Umm... hello? Is... is there anyone there? I'm not sure who exactly I'm speaking to, as I've never used something like this before, but... does anyone know where I am? I... I was traveling with a merchant caravan until just recently, but I'm afraid I'm a bit lost. I... ohh...

[the voice grows fainter, and fainter, until an audible thud is heard.]

Ooh... I'm so sorry about that... I'm afraid I'm feeling a bit faint... This kind of thing happens to me from time to time. Does... does anyone have any food they might be able to spare me? I feel... so weak... I have so many questions I want to ask about where I am... and why in the Goddesses name have I found myself here... but I don't think I can really rightly ask those questions until I eat something. It... feels like it's been weeks since I've last eaten anything.

[The young woman's voice becomes a bit more somber for this last part.]

There is... one more thing that is incredibly important to me. Upon arriving here, I seemed to have been stripped of my belongings, and there was one item that was very precious to me. Does anyone know what would have happened to my rexbolt tome? I fear it is... utterly irreplaceable.

Oh, my name's Shinji. Shinji Ikari. What about you?

It's nice to meet you, Ilyana. But, um... What's an "archsage?"

Oh, wow. That sounds really impressive. [He sounds somewhat in awe.] Is that what the tome is for?

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find it. It'll probably show up in the stores just like everything else. Maybe you can look for it after you eat?

N-no, of course not. Most people only take what's theirs, I think. And we don't use money here, so you won't have to buy it back, either.

[He smiles a little to himself, amused. He can't blame her for thinking about food when she seems so hungry!]

I don't know, we just do. And whoever wants to, I guess. There's a restaurant in the village that's usually pretty busy. It gives people something to do.

Yeah, I guess so. They do it because they like to, not because they have to.

I thought so, too, at first, but it's not a bad thing. I mean, it's because of them that life is a little easier here.
